Larry Roy Mitchell, RIP

Larry Roy Mitchell "Shawnese" (Author of "The Native Blog" and "Potawatomi Tracks".) of the Prairie Band Potawatomi, 56 yrs, passed away on November 16, 2007.

"... He joined his mother, Alberta Wamego, six years to the day. Highly decorated Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Proud to be an Honored Veteran of his tribe. Author of Potawatomi Tracks... Graveside services and Internment will be 11:00, Tuesday, November 20th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Bloomington, Minnesota."

Larry and I never met, in person, but his support, writings and encouragement have been strong inspiration in the time since my mum passed away. We had promised to "get together" for coffee and chat... some day.

Some day, Larry.
