40 000 year-old human footprints in Mexico?

I was watching the Discovery channel the other week and the show entitled "The First Canadians" claimed that the first people in the new world were now thought to be Europeans who had followed an ice sheet across the North Atlantic, 13000 years ago. White Folks rejoice! The contention wasn't based on skeletal evidence, but on a spearpoint that looked like lithic remains from the Solutrean tradition of France. (I'm not sure what happened at Discovery Channel, but no reference to the show can now be found on the site and very little using google. I'm not much into conspiracy theory -OK, maybe a little- but this show has nearly disappeared.)

However, if these footprints in Mexico pan out at 40 000 years, then all that gibberish will pan out to be more bad noise.
