Burning the weeds off the old airstrip, in Fort Frances. Children wait nearby, to enter the field and harvest the roasted deerticks.
New Crane painting, on the Bingorage Studio window.
My camera's memory cards filled up, before I finished the painting. I'll post the finished product in a day or so.

I was out there most of the day and smell like campfire now. At least the ticks are gone.
The crane painting is looking great Eric, and I totally dig the moose button.
Out of curiosity, just what do you mean by "Children wait nearby, to enter the field and harvest the roasted deerticks"? What do they do with them?
Hey JLB;
Just joshing. Some places in the world and in history, it was easy to get a meal by torching a bit of prairie and and gobbling up the grasshoppers, lizards, gophers, etc... afterwards. The children, here, don't eat bugs (as far as I know).
Thanks for the clarification... I know that folks eat bugs in many other parts of the world, but I was a little surprised about the suggestion of eating ticks! :)
Check this out if you're interested... these folks are eating spiders (somehow, I don't know if I could do that...)
