I am nearly done shaping the styrofoam form.
Next, I will begin adding some clay to fill-in the voids and begin papier-mache covering. It will need a few layers, at least
Later I will add the tail and fins; perhaps using cardboard.
Then; I will cut the paper off the styrofoam mold and attach it to a wooden stand/armature.
The cut 'seams' will be papered over and the skin painted, when it is dry.

Playing with my photo editor: The original pic was taken this spring, when the field behind my house (an old airstrip) was burnt off, to dcrease the chance of wildfire later. Can you guess which fireman is the original?

This pic is a screen-photo, of an MSPaint-modded slide-scan of a 1998'ish painting, worked on a windows-95 machine.

The bass is sure coming along nicely - what a fun project! As to the firemen... I'd guess that the original is the dude closest to the brush, since that one seems the most to scale. :)

Ahh, good ol' win95... not even Y2K compliant! ;) Don't miss that one.

Righto; on that fire dude, JLB.

The Win95 machine is my studio box.
