Shovelmask Evolution

All pics click to enlarge.

A few weeks ago, I tried to mount a pair of antlers to a papier-mache mask, but the antlers were too heavy. I looked for a spare piece of lumber to support the antlers, while I mached the mask on. All I could find was the handle of an old snow shovel; with handle and spade parts still attached. I sawed off the handle, screwed it to a work bench and papered the antlers on, properly.
I looked upon it... and it was good.
I kept the shovel as it was, displayed the piece in its first incarnation, at the FFCBC big tent and have continued to work with it.
